For Christmas 1998 i completed a collage portrait for my supervisor and mentor at Time Out Youth Shelter. i had spent some time attempting to figure out what to get her for Christmas, and finally chanced upon doing a collage for her.  However, the picture i took of her was somewhat difficult for me to match up with an idea, at least color wise. When i finally completed her collage, i liked everything except her picture with it as the color was still not right. i should have added a bluish cast to her to go more with the color of the picture. Regardless, Robin liked it, and i was pleased.  i especially liked the collage basics, which was all about putting ones finger on the mystery of a person who was quite protective of her private life... that only added to her mystery, but who had a focused care for the children we worked with. i decided to add the picture of the ancient egyptian, and i still have this hanging above my bed as it remains one of my favorite pictures.
